Willow Hilson vintage photoshoot - Exeter

When you shoot outdoors, weather is always going to be a risk.

After one change of location due to worrying weather forecasts and ignoring the dark rain clouds threatening an appearance over Exeter, we traipsed over to a secluded little spot with an arsenal of bin bags to be tucked under bums where the seating was muddy. Vintage lace and yellow gauzey fabric was draped over wintery logs, gently entangled into sun-bleached brush and thrown into the hands of gusts of wind. We had unruly hair kicked up by the gusts and spots of blinding winter sun, but we also had fun.

I love shooting vintage, the clothes have detail you rarely find in modern clothes and they have a history to them. Willow Hilson's clothes are simply stunning, if I could buy up her whole shop I would. Her styling of 20's, 30's and 50's items in a modern way leant the images a comfortable, relaxed feel. Alongside the wonderful work of the beautiful models, Emma, Hayley and Rachel, the shoot easily became one of my favourites.
